Company Profile

Adamson Veterinary Services
Company Overview
We provide comprehensive, progressive, high-quality veterinary care with an emphasis on exceptional client service and patient care, while providing employees with desirable, fulfilling and financially rewarding employment. This hospital has been in existence since 1984. It was purchased by Dr. Vickey Brooks in 2009 and fully renovated into a modern state of the art facility. We base our hospital philosophy on that established by the Mayo Clinic which states "the needs of the patient come first". In our case our patients are pets with owners. In many cases pets are considered children in their owner's eyes. That makes them parents, which in turn makes us pediatricians with a special calling to care for furry children that can't talk or show us where they hurt. We are not a low cost hospital. We are a hospital that offers the best medicine but work within a client's budget.
Company History
Adamson Veterinary Services began its journey in November of 1984. Founder and former owner Dr. Daniel Adamson, along with his wife Cathy, opened the small animal practice, and made it their home. Dr. Adamson was a 1980 Graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary medicine. The practice focused on general medicine, vaccines, small surgeries, and most testing was out sourced to labs. After 20 years of building his practice, he began to outgrow his working space. He began adding onto the practice creating a large facility with three exam rooms, a large waiting/reception area, large surgical suite, treatment area, x-ray, in house testing, and numerous kennels, to comfortably house our four footed guests. Dr. Vickey Brooks was hired as an associate veterinarian in 2004. She obtained her DVM from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine, completing her senior year at Purdue University of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She worked for Dr. Adamson until she purchased the practice in 2009. She added multiple services and hired two more veterinarians and additional staff to service the community and an increasing patient load. In 2013 Dr. Brooks began offering daytime emergency and urgent care services for other veterinary hospitals in the area. When you are working in veterinary medicine new knowledge, new equipment and the development of more advanced skills provide the opportunity for constant improvements and change. Change is good for it keeps us on our toes and our mind sharp. So, keeping this in mind, four years after purchasing the practice it became apparent that the modern hospital that Dr. Adamson built would not be big enough for all the clients, patients, community and services that we provide. So, with a conviction that change was needed, she sought the input and help from the staff, architects and construction crew to create a design for a new hospital and major renovations were completed in 2016 providing 6 exam rooms and a critical care/ICU ward, large treatment area and two surgeries. What was a beautiful hospital is now very more beautiful and larger. Believe me, you've got to see it to believe it. Go to our website and take the tour at adamsonveterinaryservices.com.
