The Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing Cardiology team! This is a unique opportunity to work alongside board-certified cardiologists, experienced RVTs, residents, interns, and veterinary students while caring for patients with a wide variety of cardiovascular diseases. From routine cardiology appointments to advanced procedures and open-heart surgery support, no two days are the same.
This position is being added because the service is growing. Cardiology experience is a plus, but we're happy to train a motivated candidate with a foundation in veterinary medicine and a desire to learn specialty practice.
What You'll Do As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in keeping our busy specialty service running smoothly by:
Supporting outpatient cardiology appointments and diagnostics
Assisting with patient handling and preparation for echocardiograms, ECGs, and other cardiac procedures
Helping maintain efficient patient flow and clinic operations
Supporting faculty, technicians, house officers, and veterinary students in a collaborative teaching environment
Assisting with administrative tasks, appointment coordination, stocking, and maintaining clinical spaces

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, with familiarity in animal handling, client communication, and basic lab techniques.
