Pepperell Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role offers
$23-$28/hour, based on experience, skill set, and credentialing, plus a
sign-on bonus up to $2,500 for qualified candidates.
Credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply, and we are also open to experienced non-credentialed technicians or assistants with strong hands-on veterinary hospital skills.
We are a busy, established small animal practice with separate cat and dog waiting areas, five exam rooms, in-house IDEXX lab equipment, a dedicated dental space, surgery several mornings each week, technician appointments, and visiting specialty support for services such as orthopedics and echocardiology.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys using their technical skills and wants to be part of a team where their experience matters. We are looking for someone who can support appointments, surgery, diagnostics, patient care, and treatment flow with confidence, care, and strong attention to detail.
You do not need to be credentialed to be considered. Whether you are a credentialed technician, experienced technician, or skilled veterinary assistant, we would like to hear from you if you have hands-on veterinary hospital experience and are ready to bring your skills to the table.
RequirementsWe are looking for a candidate with strong patient care instincts, solid animal handling skills, and the ability to work confidently within their experience level.
- Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting
• Credentialed technician status preferred, but not required
• Strong non-credentialed technicians and experienced veterinary assistants are encouraged to apply
• Comfort supporting appointments, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and treatment flow
• Strong animal handling and restraint skills
• Ability to support doctors during appointments and procedures
• Confidence communicating with doctors, teammates, and clients
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medical direction
• Team-focused attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
• Reliability, professionalism, and consistency with scheduling
• Interest in being part of a busy, hands-on small animal practice
• A desire to use and continue building technical skills in a supportive hospital environment
This position is best suited for someone who already understands veterinary hospital flow and is excited to contribute as part of a collaborative team.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our doctors and hospital team to support patient care, appointments, surgery, diagnostics, and technician appointments.
- Supporting doctors during appointments and patient exams
• Assisting with patient handling, restraint, and treatment
• Preparing patients, supplies, and equipment for procedures
• Supporting surgical mornings, including patient preparation and recovery
• Assisting with dentistry, diagnostics, and in-house lab work
• Placing IV catheters, supporting anesthesia, and assisting with recovery, based on skill level and hospital protocols
• Running or supporting technician appointments such as nail trims, vaccines, boosters, and other routine care
• Helping maintain smooth treatment flow throughout the day
• Monitoring patients and reporting changes or concerns to the medical team
• Communicating clearly with teammates during patient handoffs
• Cleaning, disinfecting, restocking, and helping keep the hospital organized
• Providing compassionate patient care and professional client support
ScheduleMost team members work a four-day workweek with rotating Saturdays. Evening shifts are shared across the team, and the goal is to maintain a stable schedule whenever possible.

• Saturday hours are 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
• Evening availability needed
• Hospital hours include two evenings open until 8:00 PM, one evening open until 7:00 PM, and two weekdays closing at 5:00 PM
• Schedule may vary based on hospital needs and staffing
