Experienced Veterinary Technician needed for a friendly, team-oriented veterinary hospital under new ownership. Looking to grow in a fun but hard working environment! We are open to having the same skilled personalities join us.
We are a three doctor veterinary hospital that always strives to offer the highest quality veterinary care possible along with exceptional customer service in a friendly, team oriented, supportive work environment. We are well equipped with EKG, pulse oximeter, doppler, blood pressure monitoring, digital X-ray machine, ultrasound, in house lab machines, dental machine and digital dental radiographs. Our special interests are preventive care, internal medicine, advanced dentistry and surgery along with the best possible customer service.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with wonderful people skills, detail oriented, positive attitude and a true team player.
Requirements
- Holds or restrains animals during veterinary procedures.
- Fills medication prescriptions.
- Assists veterinarians in examining animals to determine the nature of illnesses or injuries.
- Monitors animals recovering from surgery and notify veterinarians of any unusual changes or symptoms.
- Cleans, maintains, and sterilizes instruments or equipment.
- Examines animals to detect behavioral changes or clinical symptoms that could indicate illness or injury.
- Educates or advises clients on animal health care, nutrition, or behavior problems.
- Administers medication, immunizations, or blood plasma to animals as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Collects laboratory specimens, such as blood, urine, or feces for testing.
- Provides emergency first aid to sick or injured animals.
- Performs routine laboratory tests or diagnostic tests, such as taking or developing x-rays.
- Performs hygiene-related duties, such as clipping animals' claws or cleaning and polishing teeth.
