- Veterinary Assistant/Technician
Description
Proficient in outpatient care by supporting our doctors with examinations, diagnostic collection/preparation, treatments, and obtaining detailed medical histories.
Possess a high level of customer service through active listening, compassion, and empathy.
Critical to handle a high paced environment with a heavy workload and an ability to manage multiple responsibilities through successful multitasking and prioritization.
Exhibit a high standard of patient care.
Timely responses to emergency situations, detailed pharmacy handling, laboratory sample collection and processing.
Ability to produce high quality radiographs while implementing radiation safety protocols.
Familiarity with Avimark Veterinary Management Software and IDEXX laboratory equipment is a plus.
Patient handling with awareness to patient behavior
Maintain a safe working environment
Effective Client communication: intake, discharge, history taking
Successful Phlebotomy: Cephalic, saphenous, and jugular veins
IV catheter placement
Diagnostic collection: radiographs, bloodwork, urine collection
Pharmacy fulfillment
Routine treatment procedures: ear cleans, anal gland expression, subcutaneous injections
Dentistry: Prophylaxis and radiology
Surgical Assistance: monitoring, surgery preparation, and administering medications
Requirements
Veterinary Experience: 1-2 years (Required)
