At Carolina Animal Specialty & Emergency Hospital , we provide 24/7 emergency and intensive care for pets in need. We're seeking both Licensed and Unlicensed Veterinary Technicians to join our dedicated team on:
- 1st Shift (Day)
- 2nd Shift (Evenings)

Whether you're already licensed or building your skills toward it, this is an incredible opportunity to grow, learn, and make an impact.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Technical Skills:
- Intravenous catheter placement and venipuncture.
- Administer medications via IV, SQ, and oral routes.
- Proficiency in anesthetic protocols and monitoring.
- Assist with radiographic procedures.
- Perform diagnostic testing (blood, urine, fecal).
- Patient Care:
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to hospitalized patients.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
- CPR knowledge and experience.
- Client Relations:
- Communicate effectively with clients about their pet's care.
- Educate clients on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Admitting and discharging patients professionally and empathetically.
- Manage patient invoicing and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in an ER/ICU or high-paced veterinary environment.
- Confidence in performing the technical skills listed above.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Dedication to providing top-notch patient care and client service.
- Current LVT license preferred, but not required.

About Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital
Carolina Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital is a multi-specialty practice with specialists in internal medicine, surgery, and 24-hour emergency and critical care housed in a beautiful newly built 12,000-square-foot Hospital in Hickory, NC.
We have 12 exam rooms, a fully equipped rehabilitation department, and state-of-the-art equipment. We have the ability to provide superior specialty care with computed tomography, fluoroscopy, digital radiology, color-flow doppler ultrasound, I-131 therapy, minimally invasive surgical equipment, and comprehensive surgical instrumentation.
We have a team of highly skilled board-certified specialists, emergency clinicians, veterinary technicians, and support staff that believe in quality and excellence in everything we do and encourage individuals who embrace a fast-paced atmosphere with honesty and transparency.
