National Veterinary Technician Week -
October 10th-16th, 2010
"Hands-on-Healing" is the catchphrase about what veterinary technicians do on a daily
basis for our clients and patients.
Celebrating for one week every year solidifies the yearly commitment
every veterinary technician gives to the profession of veterinary technology,
veterinary assisting and veterinary medicine.
Hill's Pet Nutrition is proudly sponsoring the 2010 National Veterinary
Technician Week as part of their commitment to pet health and nutrition.
The National Association of
Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) is proud to represent veterinary
technicians and support our members, state associations, specialties and
student chapters during 2010 NVTW.
Thank
you for your participation and enthusiasm!
NVTW has been an annual
tradition beginning in June of 1993 when a NAVTA resolution was passed
declaring the third week in October as NVTW. Activities to celebrate this week have been a focus of the
celebratory efforts. The activities
serve these fundamental goals:
- Educate the public about veterinary technicians and
what we do.
- Reinforce the value and professionalism of
veterinary technicians.
- Provide an opportunity for veterinary technicians to
encourage one another for excellent work ethic and team building.
- Acknowledge our quality relationship with
veterinarians and other veterinary professionals.
